Filos is proud to announce that we have been honoured with The President's Certificate of Commendation (COVID-19) for our exceptional efforts in Singapore's fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. This prestigious award recognises the significant impact Filos has made in supporting the community during these challenging times.

As the Covid-19 pandemic unfolded, and especially during the Circuit Breaker period, only a select number of Social Service Agencies were whitelisted as essential services. Filos was privileged to be among them, allowing us to continue our vital work through various programmes. Despite the obstacles posed by the pandemic, our dedicated team of staff and volunteers ensured that our beneficiaries received the support they needed.

Our programmes, including our community mental health services (that is, CREST and COMIT) and befriending services, had to adapt to a hybrid model, pivoting to virtual format at one point, to meet the evolving needs while keeping our beneficiaries safe. We also implemented precautionary measures for our food and essential items distribution programme, Waves of Blessing. Our staff and volunteers went above and beyond, delivering rations and essential items to the homes of those in need, while strictly adhering to sanitisation protocols and maintaining a safe distance.

Colin Wang, who leads our Waves of Blessing programme, reflects on the challenges faced during the early stages of the pandemic. "Logistics and coordination were especially difficult during this period," he says. "There was also the fear of catching COVID or unknowingly transmitting it to our beneficiaries. I hope that Waves of Blessing not only met their physical needs but also served as a reminder that Filos stands by them through this challenging period."

We owe this tremendous achievement to the unwavering commitment of our staff, partners, and volunteers. Their dedication and resilience have enabled us to deliver the best possible outcomes for our beneficiaries, leaving a lasting impact on the community we serve.
