Meet Yassin, a dedicated father whose story embodies resilience, love, and the transformative power of community support.
Yassin, a stay-at-home dad, shares a glimpse into his family's journey, marked by moments of both challenge and triumph. "We've been through thick and thin," he reflects, "from moving to Singapore, changing schools, to facing the trials of Covid-19. But through it all, we've grown stronger as a family."
Their connection with Filos began through their children's participation in programmes like the Reading Room (Special) and Green Spot. Yassin beams with pride as he recounts the impact these activities have had on his children. "Filos has been a blessing," he shares. "My children are always eager to tell me about their experiences. Not only have the programmes enriched their minds, but they have also inspired them to embrace healthy habits, making it easier for them to adopt these practices at home."
When it comes to fostering a healthy lifestyle, Yassin emphasises the importance of a positive mindset and balanced nutrition. "I teach my kids to always be thankful for what they have," he explains. "We focus on cooking nutritious meals together, especially Asian cuisine, and avoid processed foods as much as possible."
As Father's Day approaches on 16 June, Yassin reflects on the deeper meaning of fatherhood. "Being a father is a wonderful thing," he says with a smile. "It's about nurturing and guiding the next generation, and sharing life's lessons with your children."
With a heartfelt message to fellow fathers, Yassin urges them to cherish every moment with their families. "Life is short," he reminds us. "Treasure your family and spend as much time with them as you can."
Yassin's story is a powerful example of how dedication and support from the community can create healthy and thriving families. As we celebrate Father's Day, let us salute fathers like Yassin, whose unwavering love and steadfast commitment inspire us all. Happy Father’s Day!
