A Mother’s Day Reflection with Farhana Back to list

Farhana's life is a testament to the joys and challenges of motherhood. With five children to care for and her father to look after, her days are full but fulfilling.

Her decision to join Filos' Parents Plus Healthy Families workshop stemmed from a simple desire—to provide her family with healthier options and strengthen the bonds between them. "I want to understand my children better, know their emotions, and be closer to them," she shared. Finding solace in the company of other mothers facing similar struggles, the workshop became a source of practical advice and emotional support. "It made me feel like I'm not alone," she expressed.

With the guidance she received, Farhana embarked on a journey to improve her family's eating habits. Through patience and perseverance, she introduced nutritious meals and gently encouraged her children to try new foods. Over time, she witnessed small but significant changes in their attitudes towards food.

As Mother's Day approaches on 12 May, Farhana's plans are simple yet meaningful. She looks forward to spending quality time with her family, cherishing the moments of togetherness that bring them closer. "It would be nice to go to the beach and play soccer with my family. That would make Mother's Day special for me."

For mothers facing similar challenges, Farhana offers a beacon of support. "You're doing your best as a mother. Stay positive and patient," she advises. Farhana encourages them to approach each day with perseverance and hope, knowing that their efforts will make a difference in the long run.

Farhana's journey is a reminder that with dedication and support, we can create a nurturing environment where our families can thrive. This Mother's Day, let us honour mothers like Farhana, whose love and resilience light up the lives of those around them. Happy Mother’s Day!
